Thanks for that. I have recently been playing with Vegas and was having problems with my settings. I set my project to 1920x1080, then add my 1440x1080 clips, then render at 1920x1080 again. I think there is an HDV preset for 1.33 PAR so I must be doing it right then.

I will get there eventually with this video jazz. What are your recommendations for HDV capture? I can use the built in Vegas capture tool or else HDVSplit.

I edit in 1440 preset and export out in 1920. Keeping with the source footage. I do sometimes add 1920 footage into my 1440 preset but the main source of my footage is HDV.

Yeah I used to use Adobe then went with Cineforms HDlink and now dont use anything

I really like the sound of not having to capture - the little HV40 would look silly with a big HDD recorder strapped on to it!
