I downloaded some betas a while ago from Guru3D and they had a time limit on them? :S

First time I have ever experienced a driver do that, do these have the same thing? You get a warning during installation.

I have installed them straight over the top of the older drivers with no problems.

to be honest i rma'd my card because of the crackling would never buy creative again, i am sorry for being negative but they really need to learn how to treat their customers with a little respect and not as complete idiots.
