noctua se1366 fastening bracket screws issue

    i am trying to mount this (received the this week only kit with 3.8 ghz i7 today) and im a bit worried about how im attaching the fastening brackets to the base of the heatsink. the screws are really struggling to go in, and it seems im screwing them into metal with no threads or anything...

    any thoughts?

    I do not know that actual sink but i would imagine there should be threads for the screws.

    Sounds like a manufacturing issue?

    this is an utterly ridiculous heatsink tho, what a bloody faff on getting the fans attached
