Had a search but couldn't find a thread where we could share adverts for cars we'd found (if there is one already this can be merged).

Found this 240Z Restomod for sale:

Finding a RHD Datsun 240Z is very hard to come by. The majority of ones we see are LHD and when we do find a UK or JDM example they are usually well used and need a lot of attention. Every now and then we see ones that have had such an incredible restoration they are almost too nice to be driven. This Datsun 240Z is none of the above. With no compromise on quality and finesse, this ‘Restomod’ 240Z has been built to a very high standard retaining much of its originality but improved so that it can be driven and enjoyed like a modern sports car.

Originating from sunny California, this vehicle was imported in 2002 by known specialists Fourways Engineering, who carried out a full restoration and RHD conversion with the clock showing 17, 000 miles. In 2016 and at 38, 000 miles, the current keeper loved the car so much that he embarked on a huge second restoration which included a professional respray, full engine rebuild with some serious upgrades to improve the car. Costing more than £40, 000 to restore and modify the previous owner has confirmed that he has spent far more than our asking price.

The end result is a beautiful and unique 1970s classic car that is running 250+ BHP, drives and revs like an RX-7 and sounds like nothing we have ever heard. It has the best of both worlds, the performance of a modern car and the cool looks of a classic. For interested parties and those that are more technically minded please read through the list below of the modifications. If you would like to view and drive the car, please contact us and we can arrange a test drive on a dry day. This car really has to be seen and heard in person.

ENGINE:
New 2. 8 pistons, Jenvey throttle bodies, NGK coil packs, Ram air filters, 280Z master cylinder, lightened and balanced internals and flywheel, uprated fuel system and new tank, aluminium radiator with twin fans, refurbed heater system, full stainless steel exhaust system, it is also running a 5-speed gearbox believed to be for Nissan 200 SX.

SUSPENSION:
Competition front and rear control arms fitted, coilovers with adjustable dampers on each corner, new front brakes and rear disc conversion, set of matte black Rotor Minilite wheels with Michellin Pilot Sports.

COSMETIC/ INTERIOR:
240Z style period bucket seats, rear strut brace, OPM racing steering wheel, a kill switch, engine start/ stop button, complete set of Speedline clocks (rev counter, speedo, fuel oil and water pressure) and LED headlight conversion.

I think I need to shower... #skeetskeet

Saw a 240z for sale maybe 8 years ago for only 8k and was very tempted. Another missed opportunity :\

Yeah there are loads of cars with hindsight I wish I had bought in the last 10 years, now seeing how eye watering the prices are and means I will never own one.

Beautiful metallic blue one popped up in Norwich for a similar price when I was shopping for a toy. I was massively tempted but ended up playing safe and went for the default mk1 MX5 option.

3.5L, 6 speed manual. Shame about the head-unit.

This was one of 5 or 6 Hartge BMW E36 M3 Coupes built for the UK market by Birds Tuning. Our understanding is that this maybe the only surviving one in the UK and has undergone an extensive restoration over the last 2 years to bring it back to an exceptional condition. The vehicle has only covered just over 67, 000 miles. Full details of the restoration are available on request. The vehicle recently had a BMW Inspection II service and an extensive body restoration, completed this year, was carried out by a BMW dealer. It includes a BMW Body and Paint Certificate of Repair. A photographic record of the body restoration is available. The car was featured in the BMW Car Club magazine and a link to the article can be viewed on the Turn&ClipiT website.

That Anglia is nuts. He has worked on it for 6 years and is putting it up? It must either be a bucket or the guy has more money/time than sense. To be fair the location is Ealing and by the looks of how much land he has, possibly the latter  I really like it though! Totally impractical.

So many E36 316i's going to 5k on there, insanity! The crappiest version of one of the crappiest series

I would disagree. An E36 328i is likely one of the most balanced useable classics you could get. Only problem is prices for them are just stupid now.

As for the OP. Unless the add is just poorly written they are blatantly lying about the power output of that motor. 250BHP out of something that old is going to be basically a race engine. I am not really clued up on jap engines pre 80's but it looks SOHC anyway.

To be fair the engine has been modded so maybe>?

The standard engine is a very understressed 6 cylinder, I don't see why a reliable 250bhp wouldn't be achievable.

Adding a screenshot for when the advert disappears - don't want this thread to end up as just list of dead links :)

Didn't Clarkson do similar with a Merc SL crossed with a Land Rover? haha
