It's not eBay it's from retail, one example palit 3080ti for 1700 pounds (sales tax included in price)
Not ebay scalper, but still way too punchy a price for the card when the FE is @ £1100. However, at least you can buy it, unlike anything else in the graphics card market

Wasn't the 2080ti quite a bit faster than the 2080 or am i remembering wrong.

Yep, 2080Ti was 15-20% faster. 3080Ti is 5-8% faster.

Even if you could buy for MSRP £1049 is still a disgusting price. £849 would have been reasonable, and even then not a great deal.

At least with the 3090 you get 24GB of memory and a much better cooler

Linus seems quite chipper about it in his review. But he seems to be concentrating on the Ti compared to the 3090, but completely forgetting about the price to performance difference over the 3080.

that’s shoddy reviewing imo.

The 2080ti was around 30% faster than the vanilla 2080 if I remember correctly.

An old TPU review shows 18% for 1440p and 22% for 4K for the vanilla cards, the OEM cards were adding another 5%+ though, so yeah 30% was probably possible in some games.

Is there any worry with some of the temps that are reported with the FE versions? They seem to run towards the upper limits.

Looks like the cheapest card is going to be Zotac who also have the longest guarantee at 5 years.

I am going to wait - to me this looks like a very expensive set of cards that will probably end up cooking themselves. Who wants to pay over 1K for a card that is likely to die early after the guarantee runs out - some of them are only covered for 2 years.
