I read a while back that Nvidia was going to make these using chips that werent good enough for use in the 1080 cards, hence we have these. Whatever the reason, I dont see it being worth it though, for a few $$$ more you can get a 1080 which is superior to the 1070TI. Maybe these are good for mining or something.
