Does anyone know whether an OBD2 cable will work with the older OBD interface?

It fits the socket, but I have a feeling the pins are used slightly differently. Does it a require a different cable?

I don't think it will OBD2 was introduced to standardise diagnostics. Go to www.gendan.co.uk you should find an answer there.

Just found this " On-Board Diagnostics, or OBD, was the name given to the early emission control and engine-management systems introduced in cars. There is no single OBD standard - each manufacturer often using quite different systems (even between individual car models).

OBD systems have been developed and enhanced, in line with United States government requirements, into the current OBD II standard."

So it seems it won't work.
