Odd problem

Both my optical drives will suddnely just dissapear from my computer and disconnecting and connecting them again does not help, i have to restart my computer.

this has happened twice since upgrading to Windows 7 and both times they were detected at start up and worked fine but then suddenly dissapeared??

any thoughts?

nope, connected by IDE cables

Hard drives are connected to SATA ports in AHCI mode.

When they disappear, can you check and see if they appear in device manager?

Hmm, thought they may be. I have seen an issue like this before. Tweaked about with some BIOS settings and it went away. Cant remember any better details than that sorry.
