About this Game

Born the son of a poor immigrant, Vito is a beaten down Italian American who is trying to secure his piece of the American Dream. Looking to escape the life of poverty that consumed his childhood, Vito is soon swayed by the lure of power and wealth that a life of Organized Crime can bring.

A petty criminal his whole life, Vito, along with his childhood friend, Joe, will descend into the world of Organized Crime. Together, they will work to prove themselves to the Mob as they try to make their names on the streets of a cold and unforgiving city.

Mafia 2 immerses players in the mob underworld of a fictitious late 1940's / early 1950's scenarioThe game engages you in a cinematic Hollywood movie experience in a living, breathing city, fusing high octane gunplay with white knuckle driving and an engaging narrative.

Release date is in the OP.

To echo the sentiments above, I strongly recommend playing the first game if you haven't before, particularly on PC. It's no doubt one of the best 'open world' games ever made.

I am really looking forward to this sequel.

Mafia was very good for a 2002 game graphics wise. I got stuck and left it alone for 3 years before coming back to complete it and it still looked decent then. Performance is also top notch.

It's not really a traditional 'open world' game though because it is heavily story driven and the actual gameplay is very linear for the mostpart. Yes you get a city to drive around in but it's not really like GTA etc with a host of sidemissions and what not.

Yes, I said 'open world' rather than open world to try and emphasise that too. It isn't GTA style, but you do get a good amount of freedom, and the immersion and details were fantastic for a game of it's time and genre.

One of very few games I been looking forward too for a very long time, fingers crossed for no silly DRM. Also off topic but how come 360 isn't mentioned in release in OP, some silly marketing thing?

Mafia was awesome. I am so glad they are bringing out mafia 2 and from what i've seen so far it looks very promising indeed :)
The story and voice acting in mafia was in my opinion amazing and it was hard to actually come away from playing it from what i remember lol.

Is it sadistic that I loved having to drive properly around the city in the first game...really made it feel real, not being able to hellraise around corners etc. in fear of the cops :D
