All we can hope is that DX12 and resizable BAR on Nvidia cards helps out a fair bit.

Just heads up that there does appear to be stock of the more popular HOTAS/Joystick options appearing; must have been a shipment received somewhere - decided to "upgrade" to the Warthog HOTAS and send the X52 back

You will love the Warthog thats what im using Pricey but worth it

Aye. I did consider a 5800x for this game but couldn’t bring myself to do it for one game only. I used the money to buy the Thrustmaster airbus joystick instead!

Route planner = Simbrief

Charts = google the airports ICAO charts i.e "EGLL charts" for Heathrow for example, then save to a folder for keeps.

MSFS in its current state, you probably wouldn't see much of an improvement in performance "upgrading" either of those components.

Very little in it 3080 v 3090, almost the same at lower res.

Thanks folks; will probably leave it for now then; currently running happily enough in 4K with what I have.
Loving the Warthog HOTAS; this thing makes the X52 Pro seem like a toy! Although I am trying to get my head around configuring all the switches!!!

I swear we were only talking about this 24 hours ago! It’s because your cpu won’t cut the mustard. Well it’s more like poor coding of the game for single cpu core dx11 performance and as good as your and mine 3900x are they just aren’t great at this but a 5800x (whilst better) won’t suddenly solve the issue either.

You can try what I did which was to disable SMT and use Ryzen Master to overclock the two fastest cores to their maximum.
