World update 4 is live - normal 1.23gb launcher and for me 23.26gb update to the sim, then 5.15gb package in the marketplace for the France and Benelux update as usual. There is also a bunch of updates in content manager for things like photogrammetry cities worldwide. Will be interesting if there are any fixes for London!

Loads of POIs and great to see NCE get a make over as that's an airport I love!

Good news is they claimed to fix the nerfed tree draw distance which was caused by trees being made smaller.

This is also the first update that was preceded by a small beta test of 300 people, so will be interesting to see how buggy it is this time!

In the heart of Western Europe, embrace the spirit of another age intermingled with modern influences and sensibilities as you explore a wealth of sights on display — from seaside communities to urban centers, idyllic vineyards to epic mountain ranges and world-famous resort towns — all of which now feature stunning upgrades and visual enhancements.

  3. Launch Microsoft Simulator and install the in-game content update.
  4. Once in the sim, head to the Marketplace and download the free content update for France/Benelux.

Interesting that they added real world liveries with this but not with Japan, USA or UK/Ireland updates.

Didn’t they add the FSX liveries with the UK/IE update? Or did they come afterwards in an interim update?

I’m still wondering what the point of Asobo adding liveries is. There are so many amazing free liveries already available via the community!

I have just watched their last Q & A session and there was mention of the planes included with the Deluxe and Premium Deluxe had problems or were not very good and couldn't be updated because of licensing or something
So is it worth buying one of these editions rather than the basic and paying for any extra planes/airports

Thanks for your input folks. Just looking for someone to take me on an idiots guide on everything involved in flying a turbo prop of some kind. I’m non the wiser about what I need to do when I jump in the cockpit from a cold start and radios and all that.

Best bet is to get on YouTube and find tutorial videos for the specific aircraft you want to fly mate.

There are fundamental similarities in operating certain types of aircraft (pistons/turbo props etc) but each individual aircraft will have its own procedures to operate it properly.

Start with cold and dark to ready to taxi procedures.

When you're comfortable with that do some touch and go circuits at an airport of your choice until your comfortable handling the aircraft at take-off and approach speeds.

Next stage after that would be flight planning and following an IFR flight plan.

If turboprop is what you want to do in the sim then I recommend the TBM930 with the Working Title G3000 mod and the Mugz TBM improvement mod.
TBM is also a very easy aircraft to get to grips with.

They did but FSX liveries aren't real world.

Whilst there are lots of free liveries available, they're not a patch on the quality thats available on other sims due to the mirroring issues. Lots of liveries are adjusted with titles/logos moved to avoid it, which just ruins them IMHO.

I assume the new official ones were done by the people who made the planes since they don't appear to suffer from any problems. The KLM one is great.

I see Paris has the bombed out look, although not as bad as London which does at least make it historically accurate if nothing else :D

This is interesting, I didn’t know about this. What are the mirroring issues and how have they been worked around?

Good to see that throttle quadrant back in stock now.

Got one coming next week. Fingers crossed the add on is in stock soon.

Instead of VR, does FS benefit a lot from an ultra wide monitor?
