On the x1 the controls sre broken and thats straight from the devs. Why so many insist the controls are fine i will never know. They have already sent a patch to ms so hopefully wont be too long before i can play the game now

I'm playing on PS4 and find the controls pretty naff.

Will have another play tonight but getting a bit fed up having to keep quitting races to change control settings.

I've driving a Mk1 Escort a few times and owned a Mk2 and they were a handful in the wet but in this game there a nightmare in the dry

Grrr, even after opening ports, trying the PS4 in a DMZ, swapping between wifi/wired i still can't get any mp lobby i create to be joinable. Bloody annoying when nearly every lobby is @ spa, i`d like to race something apart from that on multiplayer!

they sent out an update to PC to version 1.3 and this did tighten the controls - I use a DS4 on my PC as well, the PC version of project cars handles great with patch 1.3 - in fact the PC version after some testing handles better then the Ps4 - so something is clearly wrong.

SMS removed damper filtering from controller (gamepad) over a year ago, I think it was a big mistake, and I think the PC verion (1.3) felt like the dampener (is a filtering setting which I don't know the full techincal details on but it helped stable the car using gamepad) is turned on again or something close to it..

Gamepad support till the last few months before release was shocking in Project Cars - I'm not overly surprised to read so many complaints about gamepad control.

Controls fine for me with the pad.

I agree it is fine - to a degree, DS4 works well for me on PS4 but now the Pc version has had an update - patch 1.3 on PC is very nice via a gamepad. Much better then the PS4 using same controller after some testing, I'm lucky in that I've got both PS4 and a capable machine to play on PC so I can do this testing.

I think moogleys also has the PC version and I think this is why he's noticed the problem.

There is a problem, but I can control the car via a DS4 on Ps4 fine, but patch 1.3 on PC is much , much better..

Just tried the PC version with the latest patch and with an Xbox 360 pad it's miles better than the PS4 version to play. Tbh I would say Forza 5 handles a lot better than Project cars for me with a pad.

I do think it really needs a wheel to enjoy fully it's just not set up for pads very well. Although the PC version is better it's still not right.

I thought so, I noticed it. I've been playing the PC version more and more since that patch hit the PC version. Its much better, I wasn't just thinking it then, it clearly is better. I think they've introduced some new filter as even the PS4 version is twitchy comparable to PC with the patch.

So guys, hang on in there if you're struggling with handling, it looks like a patch thats incoming should hopefully help...

Exactly i cant wait for the patch on x1 to finally play and enjoy the game. Cant comment on ps4 but controls are terrible on the x1 unless u have a wheel. Hopefully patch wont be too long now

Just had a quick go on X1 at my neighbours and to me it seems the same as PS4. Over sensitive twitch steering.....

Been saying it from day 1. Yet another broken game released too early and leaving the payin public to beta test the game. Im fed up reading so many forums with fanboys of the x1 sayin controls are fine despite the devs sayin they basically messed up the x1 controls. Personally cant wait for the patch
