Bushes don't have liquid in them, iirc

Bush.... 50706505.. £17.46 +VAT Each
Bolt..... 60657242.... £2.52 +VAT Each
Nut..... 12578421.... £1.61 +VAT Each

These are Fiat prices from edition 50 of ePER dated 01/08/2009

So over charged by ~£75 there, and then you paid £300 for this;

You've been bummed mate.

Not as yet thankfully. I am not happy with the outrageous charge. Thanks for the info. :)

I am at the point with this vehicle where I don't wish to have to spend anything major on it and so I will flog it to a dealer hoping to get up to £2000 part ex towards something else like a 207 which will do for four years: at least this is the intention as the stilo will be due for a mot in six weeks adding further cost.

Once again, really greatful for all the help and info from everybody :)

Id keep an eye on the brake flud level and see if it is dropping. also wipe the area thoroughtly take it for a quick drive so that you get some movement in the damper and check again for leaks!

:eek: So they charge £117 an hour? VAUXHALL charge this?!

yup

walk in and say "new gearbox plz" and they'll work at £100 an hour plus vat

with a gearbox @ £1200 (new) and about 5-6 hours @ 100 an hour + vat the whole cost comes to about £2000 which is what this bloke was quoted

Obviously you can haggle. I got my headlight washers fixed on the vectra, the car was in warranty but they said it wasnt covered. I did my nut, but even then the best they could do was £60 an hour. So you only get cheap labour if you complain bitterly. Just pay what they want and they'll charge you £100.
