Hi,
My friend redid this old hp system, it has a core 2 duo E6400, 4gb of ddr2 and an HD 7850.
The problem now is the cpu bottlenecking the gpu.
He is going to buy a new cpu, but is there a way to overclock his cpu with the 0A58h motherboard?
I don't think I seen a overclock option when I was setting it up. Is there a custom bios that would allow for that?

Short answer, don't Think so, Custom mobo's built for Hp never have over clocking options, its not in their interest to allow you to do this.

SetFSB or SoftFSB or whatever the tool was had a lot of success with those LGA775 chipsets that had the options for overclocking in the BIOS locked out - but it can take a fair bit of expertise to get something working. Some of the older LGA775 boards won't easily take a quad core though - some might lack the current delivery for the 65nm quads and others might not have proper microcode updates for the later 45nm quads so it might work or it might not work at all or it might work but with random bluescreens.
