OK Folks, there are some great overclocks here! But where should I draw the line between a MAJOR overclock and a good overclock?

Bearing in mind that I don't want to set unrealistic goals for those on air!

I have already said XP-m's over 2.5 GHz, but what about the P4's?
Is a 3.9 overclock on a 3.4 MAJOR or just good?

Give me your thoughts.

Weescot m8, tought call, the higher the multiplier the harder they are to clock significantly on air.. guess you'd have to have a sliding scale! ;)

How about a category for the board with the most stuff soldered onto it lol :D that should probably be a thread on its own hehe...

No chance of that.

My board won't POST at anything over 219MHz FSB or a 12.5x multiplier

I think it's L12 mod time... although I'm chuffed I'm on the table, lol!

Edit... it wasn't stable at 2740MHz. It dropped back to the desktop after the first test in 3DM01 :(

Maybe do it as a percentage over stock..ie. a 2gig stock CPU at 2.5Gig is a 25% overclock. That way, every speed of CPU stands on its own merits....

Just a thought :)

I think it is percentage overclock that must rule the roost..ie 38% on air....am I right?

Do you mean 16.7%? Cos 83.3 means you started with a 1.47Ghz proc!?!?!? 2.7/1.833=1.47
