My Outlook profile seems to have gone missing. Disaster!

    1. What file extensions do Outlook profiles have?

    2. Am I correct in thinking a pst file is just the mail but not the email settings with it?

    Thanks,

    Jon

*.ost files are outlook profiles IIRC.

    *.pst files personal folders.

Thanks, will search for ost file. The thing is, I think it might have been deleted. Also, I read somewhere that the profile is stored in the registry. Can you restore registry settings?

Ok, the pst and ost files are not the profiles. Just checked.

I want to find out the filename of Outlook profiles, unless they are stored in the registry. If stored in the registry, can I recover that from a registry backup, if it exists.

System restore fixed it. All done!
