Will the marketing be exclusive to facebook or in any way designed to work well in that environment or will it just be a stream of copies of the deal posts on the forums?

I seem to recall the latter happening before at http://twitter.com/OcUK which evidently didn't go well as it seems to have stopped long ago

Most social media marketing campaigns fall flat on their faces because of the reason you describe.

I'm not saying a presence isn't good, because that's free, but that is still just customers coming looking for you. OcUK has that already. Who they want to target are the people not looking for them, that's the key strategic objective.
