Hi all, covered the house in Thompsons water seal a few months back. My father in all his wisdom covered a wall that was waiting to be painted white. I have emailed Thompsons who say it can not be painted over. Does anyone have any ideas? I can't think of a way of getting it off.

Water seal is absolutely brilliant, I've no idea why newbuilds don't use it (cost probably), but yeah, you can't paint over it.

What room is in it? Can you not redesign the room and use tiles instead?

It is an external wall so it can't be tiled over.

I have had a reply from Ronseal after a few weeks. They say it can't be fully removed but it can be broken down with warm water, washing up liquid and a scrubbing brush. Which will be enough to paint over it. I'll give it a go and see what happens.
