I'm hoping someone can help. I've just bought this camera but when I take a photo it shines a red light just before taking the photo. The flash is turned off so this stays off but the red light is always on.

Is there any way to turn this red light off, whatever it is?

Red eye thingy? should be in a menu.

Yeah I thought it could be that but can't actually find a way of turning it off :confused:

it's your focus assist lamp, should indeed be able to turn it off.

why do you need to turn it off?
it helps with focus
