Paper recommendations for CV printing.

I tend to use an off white colour like ivory, gives it the premium look.
I wouldn't get a pack of 500 thou as not many places want a CV but their application form via website.

EDIT: Also send it in a A4 envelope of the same colour!

Go for either a 120gsm or 160gsm, anything lower will be a bit thin to feel really quality, anything higher starts to get towards being a card stock and would be a bit thick and odd

Super smooth may seem like it's the desirable thing to go for but actually you tend to find that the more prestige companies will go for a textured paper stock for their top quality headed paper etc, something like a conqueror laid (which as a sort of weaved texture) or an uncoated stock which has that sort of grainy feel.

The uncoated and textured type of paper are very much in vogue at the moment as they give the impression of being recycled and 'green' (they may well be but you can get 100% recycled paper which is super smooth too) which is quite desirable at the moment.
