Specs:
AMD Ryzen 3700x
X570 AORUS ELITE
2x 8GB Patriot Viper 4400

Hi all, built this system last year and I still am unable to use Command rate 1T.
My system comes unstable if I change it from 2T. I get memory errors in windows.
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.

My current timings are below

Thanks a lot!

Using a pure 1T command rate relies on the IMC and it's never guaranteed. Obviously on lower speed it will happen more often but it's nothing to worry about. If Buildzoid doesn't care about 1T nor should anyone else lol.

1.48v for those timings is pretty high. If you set GDM to On you should be able to get away with like 1.42v. There was some good Patriot 4400 timings in the ripped edition thread. @MrPils may be able to help

Thanks very much! I basically copied @MrPils memory timings/voltages and they all work perfectly! Well, excecpt for 1T/2T/GDM. Only 2T is stable. I guess it's just the IMC!

Hmm seems I can't even use 1T with very relaxed speed/timings. I don't get it, so many people run this ram at 1T.
I'm sure I'm just obsessing over it. I'd just like to know why.

How relaxed?

You might have honestly just got a really bad IMC where it literally can't work even at something ridiculous like 3000 C18. I actually Googled the Patriot RAM and even the guy that managed to get the 3800x at all core 5Ghz doesn't bother with 1T in his tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pI4kV1spnY

People that got 1T were probably Intel system and even if it wasn't, for every person who got 1T, there is probably like 10,000 people who can't.

I have the same issue and just had to give up.

Running R9 3900 on MSI X570 Godlike, have 2x g.skill trident z 4266 and 2x viper steel 4400, both kits are samsung b-die and work together with no issue. I run them at 3733 16-16-16-32 calculated with 1usmus ram calculator and they are perfectly stable except that 1T. Even the calculator tells me to set it on 1T but if I do that, it wouldn't even boot, after 2-3 restarts on post it comes back with the message "Memory overclock failed" while with 2T passes all memory tests and performs really well.
Tried with each kit separately but it was the same...

Gigabyte tends to be more reliant on using T Topology for their ram slots instead of Daisy Chain.

1.5v for 3600 would indicate a T topology board, which means better stability with 4 modules, but terrible OCing for just 2.

This is an easily overlooked thing that even many advanced overclockers may not become aware of until they try ram overclocking.

T Topology can be a much larger restraint than the IMC for high ram clocks. Daisy chain however can only push one channel of ram populated.
