What is the difference between PC2-5400C5 and PC2-5300?

I need to upgrade a works Dell Precision T3400 and was wondering if PC2-5400C5 is compatable (currently has PC2-5300 667Mhz).

Absolutely no difference. For some reason some manufacturers brand their RAM as 5300 and some 5400. Practically and technically they are identical.

Think the system can take faster 800MHz (PC2-6400) RAM. Use Crucial's Memory Advisor Tool to confirm though

wandering the same question for my system will 800mhz ram definatlly work ? looking to upgrade. used that crucial tool thing before but dont know how accurate it is.
