Bit of a noob question here but never really done anything with POE before! We have a CAT5e UTP crossover cable through from one of the bedrooms to conservatory at the back of the house.
I've just bought a Ubiquity Access Point and want to mount this in the lounge, I'm wondering if I can re-use this cable as it's already plumbed in so to speak and completely hidden. Is it suitable for 48v POE, or do we have to use a special or shielded cable? Distance would only be about 10-15 meters. I only need 100Mbps to the AP (Gigabit would be nice), but main concern is whether this would damage the cable or if theres any safety concerns?
Thanks
