My friend has asked me to have alook at his computer, and from what ive heard it could be a memory problem, what quick tests (it has to be fast) can i use to see if this is the case?

Ummm, memtest86+ (not quick but that's the only program I know of)

Maybe Prime95 in blend mode? Again, not fast.

    Sorry.

Memtest86+ will be quick if it's a fairly major error that shows up in the first couple of tests.

I've always found Prime95 pretty useless/slow for picking up memory errors from past experience (e.g. Memtest fails in 5min, Prime goes for 5hrs)
