Because it's always the same noises it sounds artificial as well, which I think spoils things.

The artificial noise - and the fake noise some car makers pump through the stereo - really removes from the character of the car.

Thankfully my pops and bangs aren't artificial, and can be quietened down on regular.

Some cars send real induction sound in to the car via a pipe (I know Ford ST/RS, GT86 does it), those are ok because you can actually hear the real revs and what the engine is doing.

The fake electronic ones are tacky though. They have no connection to reality.

Yeah, my z4c had the "sound generator" aka a pipe from engine going to the inside.. has foam bits both ends of it, I've removed one and that made it loud over 5k. Remove other and it sounds like a racecar.. too much for dd

Deffo not an Atom.

Was it @cloudy who built something rather similar but rather nice? Warner R4 IIRC. R1 powered. Quick search shows he sold it and had another project on the go with a view to produce it. Be interesting to see what is going on with that.

Interesting day at work today whilst eating my lunch and being rudely interrupted by this lot

I did that on the old Z4. One trip to work and it put it back in at lunch. Was far to loud on the motorway for me to use as a daily back then. Sounded nice though.

Did you do both ends or only one ? I've done the smaller one and it's fine! :) Doing both is too much tho haha, not on a daily driver..
