The kits generally speaking don't have the rear quarter glass.

Astonishingly (or perhaps not astonishingly) it wouldn't be the first time some exotica has been nicked and towed half way up the country on an open trailer for the whole world to see... But the fact the plate belongs to some 1928 Ford makes me think that it belongs to a private collection, perhaps also containing a 1928 Ford?

Hmm, not particularly. There were a few styles, and its an old car, I doubt its the original exhaust, may have had a custom made replacement at some point. I can see a couple of others with exhausts that look the same.
