Hi All,

Thinking of doing a Prebuild to replace my current 5 year I5 system that's been valiantly rocking for a while now. Mainly looking to run games like Cyberpunk, Tarkov and some VR games maxed out.

Any suggestions to get better performance at around the 2.5k mark? Currently have a 1080p monitor but will update that in future to 1440p.

Spend a couple of pounds more and get 3600 or 4000mhz ram.
Other than that it looks decent enough.

Not really worth buying the PC to use on a 1080p screen though I am afraid!

ahh yeah the RAM many thanks for pointing it out! Going to upgrade the screen to 1440p a bit down the line :)

Hi

What system do you have could you upgrade it ?

Currently an i5 4670k paired with a nvidia gtx 1080. It still holds up fairly well but has lasted me a good 6-7 years now! I most likely will move that computer to another room for casual tv gaming or VR.

The system above will certainly perform very well, not sure if you need wifi could change the motherboard to incorporate that.

2tb m2 drive is expensive mite be worth getting a 500gb for windowa and programs and a 2tb fir the rest , should be able to this for the same money.

Would get 32gb of ram and be sortes for a long time but you could add more anothee time.

Definitely swap the ram for some 3600 / 4000mhz stuff as Ryzen loves fast ram.
Also are you willing to wait? With that RTX3080 in there the lead times might be frustrating, you only have to look at the big thread on it to see though though I'm not sure if OcUK give some kind preference to pre-built system components.

Not a fan of that board. It isn't the worst, but the B550 Aorus Elite V2 is listed as £30 cheaper, and will do the same job.

You could also ask for a cheaper air cooler such as the Alpenfohn Brocken 3.

Those savings should allow for 32GB Ram if you wanted. Also the 3200MHz CL16 is fine. No need to go for 3600/4000 as the timings will usually be worse anyway, unless you are buying a high end kit i.e TeamGroup 8Pack. Also higher speed Ram is usually more expensive. If you can get a 3600MHz CL16 kit for the same/similar price as the 3200 kit then fine.
