Problems with new system

Just purchased
MSI M3-F Intel G31 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB)
Corsair XMS2 DHX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX Dual Channel
and
Gainward ATI Radeon HD 4870 Golden Sample 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Assembled it tonight but system is freezing at the motherboard logo screen.

I have tried removing everything but the motherboard, cpu and RAM but same problem keeps happening

Any ideas whats going wrong?

Try clearing the cmos and then try and boot still running the skeleton setup but this time only use one stick of memory and preferably in different slot.

Was the PSU new too?
