is there much difference between these two processors? with only a small increase in ghz, would performance be any different? for the i7 i think it's £100 extra?

This the new SB MBA?

Looking at the clockspeed difference and the difference under turbo (200MHz) it isn't much of a difference for £100.

Personally I would go with the 1.7GHz i5 and spend the money on something more useful.
