Quick Q about a CBT and a full car licence

Hello all

A m8 of mine has been riding a 50cc moped to work for nearly 2 years on a CBT licence. But it runs out on the 25th this month and he is going in for his full car test on the 28th this month if he passes on the 28th will he be able to ride the bike for a few weeks on the car licence till he can sort himself a car even though the CBT ran out on the 25th.

I'm pretty sure he needs a CBT.

AIUI, he will need another CBT since his expires before he will obtain his full car licence. However, if he does CBT again after he gets his car licence, it will be valid for the life of his car licence for a moped, i.e. no need to do it again in 2 years if he want to keep using his moped. It may be worth a call to the DVLA to clarify this however.

If you passed pre 2000 you can ride a 50cc without a CBT on your full driving license.

He will need a CBT.
