    I currently have a 7800GTX 256mb and a San-Diego 3700 and mainly play BF2

    1) Are these new cards i.e 7800 512mb and X1900 512mb more CPU dependant? i.e if i upgraded the gfx card only would i still see an increase in fps with my current cpu?

    2) as i have a 17inch TFT and play all games at 1280x1024, would these cards only benefit a higher reolution on larger monitors?

I've noticed in recent gfx card reviews that they obvioulsy give better fps, but the reviews always seem with very powerful cpu's

    Thanks for any info

Yeah it probably would be CPU limited, as your current card probably is... theres a simple answer OVERCLOCK! ;)

As for upgrading, you have the 4th best card on the market and only play at a relatively low res, save your money.
