That’s not what I’m saying. I’m making the point that doing the dishes and tidying up shouldn’t be regarded as nice special acts. It’s veru antiquated.

That's rubbish. You're 'modern' views of antiquated niceties does not fit every couple out there.

I work full-time hours, shifts inc a weekend once a month. I also run my own business and at the moment, decorating the hall, stairs and landing as well as battling a crippling autoimmune disease.

My wife works part-time school hours Tues-Friday and will do a lot more of the general day to day housework and look after the kids.

Doing the odd job so she gets a little more spare time it's very much appreciated and considered a nice thing. That and things such as flowers and little days out here and there.
