Lemon Jelly - Lost Horizons

Their first album, just released on the 21st October, is superb. They also released 3 EPs a while back (as one CD, called www.lemonjelly.ky and there are samples on the site) they are definatelyt worth a listen!

If you like jazz msuic, nice relaxing people to try are Koop.

Sigur Rós '()' ;) will chill you out nicely for something different.

Along the same line, Mogwai - CODY is calming, but somewhat depressing.

The Beta Band - Hot Shots II is funky, quirky album.

The Beatles - Abbey Road is worth a listen, generally laid back quality Beatles album.

Goldfrapp - Felt Mountain is a very good relaxing album (was used in an old One-to-One whistling advert tune)

DJ Shadow - Endtroducing, get this album not the new one. Easy on the ear heavy beats, class album.

There's a 45-minute Jean Michel Jarre track called "Waiting For Cousteau" which, unlike the vast majority of his other, more poppy works, is one of the most beautiful pieces of ambient music I've ever heard. It's that different from the rest of his stuff, it really is. No beats, no samples, just 45 minutes of synth pads and stark treated piano that'll make you want to go scuba diving.

Ooh, in fact, I'll slap it on now. Mmm... :)

Waiting for cousteau has to be one of jarre's most underrated albums. Best track is Calypso though :p

For me it's

Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells

Mike Oldfield - Songs Of Distant Earth

U2 - The Joshua Tree

Radiohead - No Suprises from ok computer

Tangerine dream - Most albums work for me!!

Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene 7-13
