Hi All,

I built a new pc last year (specs are in signature) and bought a 144hz free sync monitor not long ago. I do not think i need to upgrade my cpu just yet but feel that the gpu can use a boost. Any cost effective options here to make some use of the 144hz panel?

The RX580 is a solid card even at 1440p but I am hoping to pump more frames out.

Thanks

You'd be looking at a 5700 as a bare minimum coming from an RX580 for 1440p/144hz, but I'd recommend spending the extra on a 5700XT.

You can get a blower style 5700 for £250 after cashback or a 5700XT for £300 also after cashback, not the best cooling options in the world but undervolted and with a custom fan curve they should perform admirably.

If you can afford more you're looking at £300 for a 5700 with a decent cooler or £350-375 for a 5700XT with a decent cooler.

See here for the various cashback offers: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...es-cashback-bf-offer-details-inside.18870588/

I wont try recommending Nvidia since budget seems to be a concern and you've been happy with AMD.

I have a budget of between £300-£400. Not overly keen on going for the RTX cards, doubt i can get any 2070 in that range anyway. So 5700xt will see me a considerable bump over the rx580?

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £375.00 (includes shipping: £0.00)

With that budget I'd say this is the best card.

Solid cooling solution, longer warranty than most, and said warranty is UK based.
