Recording guitar through PC?

    Hi, i'm looking to be able to record something i'm playing on my guitar on my PC. I've got an guitar amp with a heaphones out. Could i plug from this to the headphones port on my PC ok?
    If not how could i do it?

    You need to run from the headphone jack on the amp to a mic/line in, input on your PC.

    Then make sure in sounds and audio devices (found in control panel) that the mic/line in, is selected as the recording input.

    You can then use sound recorder or some other audio software to record the tracks.
