Recovering Word Document

    Morning all

    does anyone know of any free tools that can recover corrupted word documents? The only one i have found is about $130 :eek:

    Find the broken doc on your hard disc, usually not that hard to find, cut and paste the text out of it and start again.

    Required a little effort but saves you $130 ;)

    yeah could do that but i loose all the formatting, tables and images from a 50 page document that I didn't write :(

    Recently I've had some success opening corrupt Excel files in Open Office. It's worth a try.

    Open the .doc in notepad.

    Sometimes you can get all the text back minus pictures and layout.

    or wordpad... but again u lose all the formating
