    Hi folks,

I'm about to reformat one of my PC's due to a new motherboard. Said PC has Mass Effect installed on it and I have still got a fair way to get through it. To this end I would like to back up any files/folders I will require that will allow me to reformat, reinstall the game and then copy and paste the required folders back into their respective locations.

Can someone tell me where the folders I need to keep to do this are located?.

    Many thanks indeedy. :)

If you don't have the steam version then you need to de-authorize the installation before reformatting.

    Grab that here http://activate.ea.com/deauthorize/gamesList.html

As for the saves and settings, you will find them here (depending on os):
    C:\Users\<user>\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect

I think you should be able to backup that folder then simply copy it over to the fresh installation later on.
