Replacement for Sky Hub SR102 - £50?

Tried a search but nothing came up.

Family member has just had Sky unlimited up to 17mb ADSL2 installed in a new property and wants to swap the sky hub for something a bit less restrictive, gigabit Ethernet and maybe better wireless? Is it still just as easy as extracting the username and password from the sky hub then setting up with a MER compatible new router?

Any suggestions? Thanks.

ADSL/2 usually isn't MER, they did a U turn a long time ago iirc. Personal choice would be extract details and shove in any (non ASUS) all in one (TP Link Archer stuff was stupidly cheap recently) or an HG612 flashed with stock firmware as that will do ADSL/2/FTTC and whatever 'dumb' router you prefer.
