Replacement Plusnet Modem/Router

Hi All,
I have 2016 TPLink VR600 https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/dsl-modem-router/archer-vr600/ which seems to now be dropping wifi quite often now on Plusnet and requires more frequent reboots. As there is no new firmware for this model should i upgrade to a newer modem/router or just get a wi-fi access point ?

I have the TP-LINK Archer VR2100 and after moving to plus-net, I get regular drop-outs on a daily basis. This is not the wi-fi however, the router reboots itself even though there is no scheduled reboots in the gui.

i have raised a support case on tp-links forums.

I kept the fiber modem but replaced the stock plusnet router with an Asus "gaming" router (ASUS RT-AC85P). Wifi has been considerably more stable and I'll never use a providers unit again.
