Hi Guys,

What type of wireless card do I need to replace a Dell Inspiron 1720, is it a mini PCIe card?

Also I am replacing the wireless card in this laptop due to when it is enabled in the BOIS the laptop crashes (as in completely freezes/hangs while windows is starting up or when loading the desktop and non responsive, only way is to hold down the power button).

This also after doing a complete re-install of windows Vista and having the correct drivers from Dell installed.

Also the connections to the card are definitely secure as I check that. Is the wireless part of the laptop dead? as when using Ethernet connection it works completely fine.

Thanks

i bought a card for my Dell 1721 a while back wanted to upgrade to N type. All 3 wires were all their under the cover. Got mine from the bay, only problem was drivers but got that sorted eventually. It was an intel 4965 agn, but there were other types. Search google for your laptop model and wireless card you wish to fit to see if its been done?
