Resolution dilemma is driving me crazy ..

Ok it's nothing uber but since i'm limited to space - i can really only get a new 20" monitor and i can't decide with regards to resolution!

1600 x 900 seems to be common and is 16:9
--but--
1680 x 1050 seems to be more mainstream (is it 16:10??)

and in short i can't decide the monitors in question are Dell's and main use will be the standard internet/movies/gaming

which resolution with regard to the small size screen is best? which will be best viewing movies in WMC? which one will far cry 2 look better on? IS there a rule of thumb? damm 80 x 150 pixels

help or a point in the right direction would be useful thxs!!

In my opinion 16:10 is better than 16:9 simply because a 16:10 aspect ratio offers a higher resolution which in turn equals more detail.

agreed. I'd automatically go for the higher res too Don't forget to read some reviews of those two monitors you're looking at, for all we know, the 1600x900 one might get better ratings?

get a 20" dell 2009wfp ultrasharp for £175.
