Hi. Recently purchased an ASUS H81M-A which supports on board HDMI output up to 4K (including 2560x1600@60hz).

The issue I have is the monitor, which is a 27" DGM bought from OcUK, only supports its max resolution (2560x1440) through its DP and DVI-D inputs. The HDMI input is limited to 1080p.

So I tried a HDMI to DVI adapter on the motherboard which didn't work. I read that those adapter can't convert the dual signal needed for 2560x1440.

Next logical step I'm guessing is HDMI to DP. Question is, do these even exist? I've seen plenty of DP to HDMI, but its an HDMI source I'm trying to convert.

Suggestions would be much appreciated! Thank you.

HDMI is limited to HD at the moment (new cables etc needed for better no doubt); i have no image quality issues using a dual DVI cable for 2560x1440.

From ASUS website
- Supports HDMI with max. resolution 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz / 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz

However
- Supports DVI with max. resolution 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz

And it is only via DVI or Displayport my monitor can display 2560x1440.

I need a way to take the signal coming from the HDMI output of the motherboard and convert it into either DVI or DP input on my monitor at the full resolution.
