Great spec wise, but they only have size 48 left in stock (which is probably why it's on sale in the first place, clearing out the warehouse) which may be rather small for you, and also comes with 650 wheels as opposed to 700c. Hard to know how it would affect you without riding it first.

Possibly. However, the tyres tend to be more ridgid which makes the ride worse.

Just submitted insurance claim for my bike £1500 now all being well they should payout.

I can't get out to test bikes yet due to my injuries , but I'm window shopping so to speak. I'm looking at putting another £500 towards the bike.

I'm not overly bothered about the quality of wheels on this bike as I have some decent handbuilt wheels.

Any suggestions on what to avoid/have a look at? Been looking at the new trek lightweight frame build.

Great evening for a pedal, much better than going out mid-day like I foolishly did last Wednesday. Had a rough idea where I wanted to go but ended up going all over the place adding miles just for the sake of it. Clocked up just over 47 miles which is my longest solo ride at an average of 18.8mph which I was well chuffed with. Not so happy about ending up covered in energy gel, High5 Iso Gels are a royal pain to open. Squirted everywhere!

Bit sad to see so few cyclists out though, 3 or 4 at the most. Was ideal conditions for it.

Looks fun, apart from the Las Ges climb might start to hurt on my normal gearing.

That Las Ges segment is part of the Hautacam climb.. you've got 6-7km climbing before you get to that bit..

I haven't gone over the emails yet. Was going to worry about all that after the London Triathlon this Saturday which is looking to be a headache on top of wet!

Well another TT tonight and another PB, times coming down, slowly but surely, same course as 2 weeks ago, and a 7 second improvement, although my power was up by 35W, so guessing slightly less favourable conditions, getting closer to the sub 23minute mark, hope to get it before the season ends!

Tyre advice if you would all be so kind...

Other half has a late 90s Specialized StumpJumper that she currently uses 26x1.5" tyres on, mostly for riding to work on roads, but with a reasonable amount of offroad cycling (with me, on an MTB).

The current tyres have seen better days, so I want to replace them for her, however i'm not sure of what to get.

I'm looking at Hargroves as we have a local one, i'm just at a loss as to what tyres are considered good, overpriced, etc. Some of these cost almost as much as the SportContacts I put on my car!

The first obviously looks better for the commuting work but i'm not sure if it would be any good riding gravel tracks and the like?
