That is indeed sad news

Not sure what they are referring to when they commented about making room for two further shows. I'm more concerned about them dropping Robot Wars.

Whilst there was room for improvement it always had a certain charm that Battlebots never had.

Not sure how we could watch that latest series of BB tho.

Or you can always go and see it live and see the robots off the TV up close and personal.

The extreme robots one should be good this year as they put a roof on the arena so they can now allow spinners. Plus you get to tour the pits and see the robots up close and you can walk IN the arena (with no robots of course) which is better than watching it on tv ! But unnerving to stand on the flipper ! My kids have still got a bits of robot from the arena floor from when we went last year.

Already fans have started murmurs of a Netflix or Amazon campaign.

That's such a shame, the reboot was starting to come good in the last series (not the world championships) and I was already looking forward to the next series.

For me all that needed improving was a little less interviewing of contestants and more on the educational side, getting kids inspired about engineering and technology. That's the sort of thing BBC 2 was fantastic for and what the BBC should be doing in my opinion, rather than just going all out for entertainment ratings.

I wonder if it was an insurance issue, or fear of injury, given how powerful and destructive some of the robots were becoming.
