Samsung note 8. Is this a screen fault?

As you can see. On the right edge near the top there is a light stripe. This does not appear if I rotate the phone and play a video. Is this normal or is it a fault. Thanks

it a feature called edge screen, if you swipe left it will open up a tab where you can put various apps etc.
You can also turn it off if you don't want to use it.
