SATA drives = 15MB/s :( need assistance please

    Have a look at the controller in the device manager to make sure theyre not set to PIO mode. It doesn't look like they are due to the low CPU utilisation, but you never know.

    should there be a SATA controller?

    i have SCSI and RAID Controllers --> Mass Storage Controller

    but i dont see any options in there really, just general info.

    i'm guessing that might be the problem? :D

    maybe i need to drivers or someting for that. brb

    On mine its under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers>NVIDIA nforce4 Serial ATA Controller>Primary channel>Transfer mode>Serial ATA Generation 2- 3G

    okee, mine seems very different.
    however i asked windows to find me some drivers for the Mass Storage Controller, it installed some Silicone Image SATA drivers and things seems to have been fixed.

    drive speeds test much higher now. but seeing as the PC didn't seem slow before, is it possible they were working ok, and the test result was false? hmm weird.

    anyway, thanks for the replies :)
