I use an XLR mic into a 48v phantom power supply then an xlr to 3.5mm cable to plug into my GSX1000.

Has anyone used a proper audio interface for improved mic quality which they've then plugged into the GSX?

Hi all,

I really need your help. My GSX 1000 has lost functionality. After a computer crash I went in to check sound settings and it was on stero, so i tried changing to 7.1 surround in the configure speakers area but it says 'format not supported by this device'.

I try to test 7.1 and it says device is being used by another application, i click continue and it says 'failed to play test tone'.

I've tried restarts, I've downloaded the updater, and updated the firmware but still having the issue.

You are running the device in HD 2.0 mode you need to change the sample rate to 48hz in the properties.

Thanks Shankly, worked it out before i saw this after trying but knew you'd have the answer if i didn't. The reset of everything had changed my sample rate and i'd forgotten i needed to run it at 16000khz and DVD quality to have 7.1.

Hello All! I recently got the GSX 100 and cant decide between the game one and the gsp 500. Does anyone have any insight? I also wanted to ask what the latest firmware number was for the gsx 1000. My version is .844 but there is a new one that says .808? Can someone please confirm which is the current?

Is the latest version given by the updater software.

5.23.37.0.844 and I cant check the box next to the gsx 1000 to update. When I run check for updates it says Im running the most current version.

I do believe that is the latest and was at one time offered by the software updater and then pulled for some unknown reason. Do you have a release log link by any chance?

Yes I have the release notes and it is for 5.23.37.0.808 but I cannot check the box to update.

I have the Game One, never tried the GSP 500. I know a couple of YouTubers and Mad Lust Envy who highly rate the Game One's, not sure about the GSP 500. I would recommend the Game One's, they are very easy to drive. I have volume at 20 on the GSX 1000. With my BeyerDynamic DT770's (80 ohm) i had it in the low 30s.

Thank you for the info! I love both headsets. They sound pretty similar with the GSP 500 having a tad more bass. They are so bulky though. I love the slimmed down look of the Game Ones.

They are light and better looking in my opinion. Also remember, that you can add bass using the GSX 1000 by using story or music mode which adds bass.

Guys I have another question. If I am running in 7.1 mode on the gsx 1000. Do I turn off 7.1 in the game I’m playing settings? Thanks in advance!

No if the game has the option for surround sound enable it.
If the game has a headphone virtual surround like CSGO disable it.

Most games don't have an option and will just use what window setting is set to.
