500/4000 sounds about right.. The manuals service rate is right up there with some fairly highly strung machines.

What you have to weigh up is the cost of the following 1250 mile service routine over two years, to the cost of any possible warranty work..

It might be an idea to do the first few services at the manuals rate and see how the bike is holding up, as most things that are going to fail in warranty will do so early on.

the only issue is my service manual says 500km then 2000km after that 310.68 miles and 1 242.74 miles after that for my service booklet the guy was saying about the keeways they service where 500 miles then 4000 after that, if i missed every other service would be my warrenty be void because its going to cost me £50 for the first service then £70 for everyone after that thank you for your advice

I'm a bit confused, so your saying the interval entries are:

1: 500km
2: 2000km
3: 310.68 miles
4: 1242.74 miles

Because 500km is 311 miles and 2000km is 1243 miles.. I suspect the km tickets are only used only where km tachos are used and likewise for miles.

What numbers are the next four entries? and do they follow the same method of km, km, miles, miles?

A minimum of 11 services over two and a half years totaling £750.. Or dealer's method at £190 but risk loss of the warranty.

In the case of the latter, lose the manual and keep the servicing receipts.. Unless the dealer would stamp the book for you.

Edit: You should have something in writing describing the warranty conditions, as it's a contract between you and them.

I did not get any warranty conditions from my dealer but it is in the service manual but it just says what is not covered ?? If i did the first 2 services and then just dropped the warranty because in a perfect scenario the bikes last (what i have seen of my friends 3 keeways on 09 plates) and still going.

Warranty can be pointless as some dealers just cover "electrics" so if anything mechanical went wrong then you'd have to pay - so it's worth finding out what it covers etc if you can.

If it's a new bike change the oil at 500miles then generally 1,000 - 2,000 miles after that. Oher servicing can wait 4,000.

It kind of depends on the quality of the engine materials and/or stress of perfomance.

Do Keeway use the same quality materials as for example; Suzuki or Honda?? So to eir on the side of caution 3k miles might be more on the side of ideal than 4k miles.

Done 2100 miles, had no idea you had to take it for service so regularly. The bike was paid for in full so does this mean my warranty is now void?

Have a chat to your dealer I doubt it. Unless they are really picky.

Do you mean 2100 miles without it being serviced at 400 miles?

My service intervals in the triumph are 6000miles
