Hi, a while ago i upgraded my Lenovo Ideapad 510 laptop which had 8gb ram originally to 12gb, so i replaced the 4gb stick that was in the laptop with a 8gb stick, i did try to do a bit of research first and the best stick i could find at the time was Corsair CMSO8GX4M1A2133C15 Value Select 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4 2133 MHz CL15 The link to it on Amazon is:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0143UM6Y0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Even though it works fine and my laptop does show 12gb, the laptop itself feels a tiny bit slower than it was before and now i'm not sure if i could have bought better or faster RAM than i did?

It’s not massively slower but i thought it might be a little faster having more memory etc..

Any advice?

You might have lost Dual Channel mode by changing the 4GB stick to a 8GB stick. Also, depending on what the existing memory speed is, if your newer stick is slower, both sticks will run at the slower speed.

You can check your memory channel mode and stick speeds by getting CPUZ and looking at the Memory and SPD tabs: https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
