Hi, a while ago i upgraded my Lenovo Ideapad 510 laptop which had 8gb ram originally to 12gb, so i replaced the 4gb stick that was in the laptop with a 8gb stick, i did try to do a bit of research first and the best stick i could find at the time was Corsair CMSO8GX4M1A2133C15 Value Select 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4 2133 MHz CL15 The link to it on Amazon is:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0143UM6Y0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Even though it works fine and my laptop does show 12gb, the laptop itself feels a tiny bit slower than it was before and now i'm not sure if i could have bought better or faster RAM than i did?

It’s not massively slower but i thought it might be a little faster having more memory etc..

Any advice?

James.

If your running 4 and 8gb modules then it will run in flex mode with only 4gb of the 8gb running in dual channel and the other 4 will run single channel which will hurt performance. You would be better off grabbing another 8gb so your running 2x8 in dual channel.
